good, better, best....
never let it rest
til your good is better
and your better best
So - we didn't end up doing the "proper ride" for a number of reasons - the main one being it was cancelled !!

The weekend after we had visitors in the form of a friend and her eriskay, and went for a stooge around the stubble fields. Carpe diem - we were lucky the stubble fields hadn't turned into plough already ! Both behaved well. I had a rather embarassing moment where I was worrying about a flock of geese on the stubble... and they ALL turned out to be decoy ! (D'oh !)
The next day turned out well also, and we borrowed my sister's pony (for me) so that mum could also get a ride out.
Scotland finally caught up with it being winter... and the following weekend was ok on Saturday, but solid rain on Sunday.
This weekend the forecast was awful - we avoided the high winds but it was raining on and off. Ended up doing some groundwork. Fi seems to have been making a habit of taking one or more shoes off. The other week the horses all went for a jaunt when dad inadvertantly let them out....Fi took *both* shoes off. They got put back on this Tuesday, but by Sunday she was short one again. :( Luckily she isn't lame so she did get ridden.
Rosie was a good girl - and went well for mum as well.
I was away at a conference this week... which included a session which was about "conflict management" and used Aikido concepts. It brought back to mind some of the things I've learnt from watching Mark Rashid.
